Mercy Riset & Calipson

For about 10 years ago the Calipson group changed its style to being more Caribbean.
Cuban music and international classics had now come into their repertoire and in 2011 the music group released its first album titled "Calipsonia".

The six members of the group Calipson are all professional musicians with long experience - some of them have played together with international musicians like Lou Bega, Bunna, Persiana Jones, Omara Portuondo, Havana Mambo, etc.

After a couple of months of intensive exercises and preparations, the new project "MercyRiset & Calipson" was developed. 

With inspiration from Calypso and Cuban music, a new repertoire was created - with songs in Spanish and English - international classics and own compositions - a colorful mix of songs like El Manisero, Moliendo Cafè, A mi que,  Oye como Va, Si nos Dejan, Fever, etc.
